Dear Members and Friends,
With Association day just about a month away, I’m sending along the Association day info sheet for you to look over as well as driving instructions to the hotel.
For those of you coming from a distance and flying into Boston and deciding to take public transportation to the Hilton Boston Dedham Hotel, there are two options:
- The hotel is located within walking distance to the Dedham Corp Center train station. Guests can access that station by taking the Franklin line out of South Station or Back Bay Station. View train schedules on Association day info sheet, but please note that construction will disrupt Franklin line service through May. - The hotel is also about 2 miles from the Route 128 Amtrak station. Guests can access that as well from South Station or Back Bay Station by using the Providence/Stoughton line.
If any guests need transportation from either station they can contact the front desk at 781-329-7900 to ask for the hotel’s free shuttle to come get them. If you are arriving at Logan Airport, the silver line bus will take you to South Station. Closer to April 28, I will get the latest schedules and times and post it on the website.
Late last year we sent out a survey asking if you’d prefer a box lunch or a buffet lunch that the hotel mentioned they could provide for us. The buffet lunch won, but after considering all the logistics to make this happen, we decided neither way was
achievable. The hotel then offered us an "Express Lunch" option and we felt it fit in better with our schedule. The cost of this lunch is $18 plus tax.
On the registration tables when you check in, there will be an express lunch menu/form for you to fill out. You’ll have a choice of several salads, sandwiches and sandwich/soup combo, and a choice of chips or whole fruit and a beverage – they’ve
added soda to the list of beverages, which you’ll have to write in what you want. Fill out the form with your name, event (Phinney Association), time you want to pick it up and circle your choice of foods. You must sign up during registration and place your order in the designated basket on the Information table prior to entering the Grand Ballroom.
If you want to purchase the lunch and take it to your room, just put “TO GO” on your form and they will pack it to go. When we break for lunch, whatever time you said you wanted your lunch, go to the Hotel’s restaurant to pay and pick it up including “TO GO” orders. There is ample room in the restaurant where you can eat and there will be tables set up throughout the lobby and the hallway to the right of the Grand Ballroom. There are places you can also sit outside (weather permitting).
If you prefer to eat a light lunch, there is a Market Place beyond the lobby where you can purchase light snacks and drinks. There are some sandwiches sold there but not
that many and they could run out very quickly.
