“Banded together to bring down the walls”— I love this thought! And I love the Association activity throughout the year, culminating in three wonderful days each May to focus on Spirit, God.

The Association came directly to my rescue a decade ago at a time of great challenge. My husband had just been transferred to China, and I couldn’t help but feel that I was losing everything I held dear—home, friends, and especially my dearly loved branch church.

As it turned out, this was a wonderful demonstration. The highlight of the working out occurred at Association, when I discovered a member who already lived in the city we were moving to and a guest who was moving there, too. Rather than leaving church behind, I had suddenly found a wonderful new one! The three of us did come together, and were joined by more Christian Science ex-pats in an inspiring, joyful group. The blessings continue to this day.
