“affirm the Christ – rather than deny”

  1. Not all of the healings were instantaneous, yet no one indulged in a pity party, but pressed forward – no matter how scary the human picture. Press on!

  2. Page 149-151. Heart condition at birth healed. Belief of cancer healed. These healings were of course wonderful, but there was a conviction that “if God could heal the heart trouble, then He could heal this [the cancer] too for ‘with God all things are possible.’” In her study during this time she found significance in accounts of Jesus’ disciples – their spiritual qualities as well as their “human failings each had to overcome.”

“For instance, Peter, who denied Jesus three times… And as I searched my own thoughts, I saw that I’d sometimes denied the Christ too. Saying that I was sick was denying the Christ, Truth, which Jesus expressed in his healing work and which is always available.”

The writer realized that Judas’ main problem was jealousy. That hit home for her and in humility she handled an imposition of jealousy in her own thought.

I don’t want to deny the Christ by voicing the lie that I am sick. Good wake-up call.

Pages 136-145. Liberation from concentration camp, protection and supply. The writer never paused when God gave her direction. She just unquestioningly followed. She didn’t just think that she would be obedient and do this scary, life threatening, maybe reckless thing (such as walking out of the camp with all the armed guards right there at the gate, or rooming with someone in an area that had been evacuated in anticipation of a raid, etc…). Human reasoning and second guessing didn’t enter in – only unquestioning obedience.

  3. My first husband received a diagnosis of dry eye with the prediction that if he did not take these eye drops he would most definitely go blind. He agreed to call our Christian Science teacher. The drops were never taken and his eyes were healed. Years later when he got new glasses, the optometrist noticed evidence of scar tissue and commented on it. Apparently his eyes were considered healthy at that point though. I am grateful that I have always had the opportunity to record my healings as association fruitage reports. It would be good to revisit fruitage reports from prior associations as well from time to time.

  4. I plan to affirm health instead of sickness (affirm the Christ – rather than deny). I will unquestioningly obey God’s direction.
