“My true purpose is…to share what I am learning, and that is healing”

This past year has provided such opportunity to share Christian Science with others! Many have requested I pray for them—some not even realizing why—and doing so has been quite joyous.

Working in a retail environment, I continually have opportunities to share Science. It is amazing what people share as far as their problems and fears. Sometimes I have been led to share a simple truth. Other times people come right out and ask me to pray for them. Many even ask what church I attend. I know it is the light of Truth that is shining forth. My managers and fellow co-workers are incredulous at the things shared with me and the requests made, but I know that my true purpose is not to sell clothes but to share what I am learning, and that is healing.

 A dear non-Science friend asked for prayerful support for her dog, which was said to have a life-threatening condition. A very costly surgery was claimed to be the only recourse, although that surgery was not guaranteed to resolve the situation. I worked. When the dog was retested prior to scheduling the surgery, the vet said that the original diagnosis was no longer evident and the surgery was not necessary. My friend was very grateful and acknowledged the metaphysical work done.
