I was so grateful for the assignment to read (or in my case, re-read) A Century of Christian Science Healing. It reaffirmed in inspiring ways, that when Christian Science is understood “As the law of God, the law of good, interpreting and demonstrating the divine Principle and rule of universal harmony.” (Rud 1:2), there is no mechanism of mortal mind that can derail its healing effect – not skepticism, indifference, hatred, discouragement, passage of time nor by beliefs held by old theological, medical theories, or psychological teaching.

So many inspiring testimonies in this book, which I have not read since it was first published back in the 60’s! After rereading the whole book, I find that my choices (per the assignment) are not what they might have been many years ago, when I would have focused on the particular situations healed. Now what strikes me is the measure of Science that shines through the healing, and I guess this difference is a reflection on my own growth in Science.

Wow wow wow! I have just finished A Century of Christian Science Healing and what a privilege to have a deep dive into all that is good and strong and immortal. I have absolutely loved it. It is such a wonderful joy to be reminded of the foundation and effectiveness of all that we think, are, and express. No problem can withstand that pure outpouring of good that is constantly available to us and encircles us.

The book, together with some encouragement has both refocused my attention to healing, and broadened my definition of healing. If a deeper understanding of Mind, for example, leads us to recognize that there are not “my thoughts and ideas” AND God’s (Mind’s) thoughts and ideas – just as there is not matter AND Spirit – then so too, there are not my ideas of how to run a business, conduct church committee work, or maintain a happy home life, AND God’s ideas. Each and every testimony in Century is like holding a cut diamond – with each slight turn catching a glimpse of a new facet of the divine Truth that brought healing to the testifier.
